VALUE FOR MONEY IN THE PSA09

The new Public Sector Agreement (PSA09) offers public sector organisations the potential to save money while achieving best value in the procurement of software. The simpler and more flexible approach recognises the changing requirements of public sector organisations over time through two key principles organisations pay for what they need and choose software for different kinds of users rather than by product.

Software Asset Management is also simplified, which means that administrators spend less time

managing software and more time using it. As a result, there is more time available to enhance service delivery with ICT.

PSA09 is available to all public sector organisations and introduces an innovative, new transferability benefit. Public sector organisations can now transfer the right to use Microsoft software  for example, when re-organisation occurs and a government department is divided or joined with another.
